About

Unique Position in Community

Unlike any other organization in Napa Valley, it is ACNV's mission and role to support the work of the rest of the arts community. For the last 30 years, we have proven our ability, credibility and commitment to Napa Valley arts as a whole.

With no seats, walls, nor beds to fill; no students nor kitchen to manage; no votes to gather and no grapes to pick, ACNV is in a unique position to support the creative work of others. We exist to foster collaboration and communication between the varied creative individuals, organizations, and entities in our Valley. It is our goal to provide a solid, safe foundation for our arts community to thrive.

We accomplish this by: coordinating regular meetings of the Napa Valley Arts Coalition; holding quarterly ACNV Member Mixers; maintaining a free, online calendar to promote all local arts and culture events; posting event reminders 2-3 times daily with social networking tools; posting a free online Artist Registry; sending monthly e-blasts announcing artist opportunities, special events and detailing ACNV's Cultural Planning activity and progress. With funds gathered annually on behalf of hundreds of Napa Valley students, teachers and families, ACNV employs art teachers and performers with matching grants to numerous local schools, organizations and festivals.

ACNV serves as the arts information hub for the community, answering daily calls and emails from locals and beyond with questions about local entertainment schedules, how to find a summer art class, or a guitarist to play at an upcoming wedding.

We regularly work with local government, schools, chambers of commerce, Napa County Office of Education, the Napa Valley Destination Council, and media outlets to represent the voice of the arts community. In addition, these groups often call on ACNV for recommendations when they are looking for individuals or organizations for specific arts needs or events.
