As a photographer I've been drawn to both documentary and landscape styles throughout my life, and have managed to pursue both simultaneously. Working in the wine industry I've been able to have a more organic filter on my vision and have been experimenting with my "pixoil" prints which have a watercolor appearance. I presently have 8 prints which are ready for display in any public space from this series and will be having gallery shows in the near future. Subject matter includes vineyard landscapes but is more about the harmony of humanity and nature. Prints will now be limited editions and printed with a Roland DaVinci pigment printer and framed without glass. Please email me for information about upcoming shows. My documentary side has been producing a series that I photographed between 2000 and 2003 of California Oak  Trees. A 1950's steel 4x5 camera with 150mm lens was my instrument. With it, a Polaroid film back and type 55 neg/pos film for an instant contact print and gelatinous negative for archiving. The trees are documents of a primordial relationship that we as humans have always revered and identified with. I consider them "portraits" because they are individuals with a soul.
