I was born and raised in Colorado, attended Pacific University in Oregon, and graduated from the University of Hawaii. Currently, I live in St. Helena, California.
My art education was gathered informally through workshops at the University of Hawaii, Penland School of Crafts in North Carolina, Anderson Ranch Art Center in Colorado, and Encaustic Printmaking in New Mexico. I also attended U.S. sponsered workshops in Italy and France. In 1999, 2002, and 2003 I was an artist in residence at the Vermont Studio Center.
Travel has been a big part of my art experience. Many of my ideas have come from visiting exotic places such as India, Nepal, Africa, Southeast Asia, and Miconesia.
While living in Hawaii, I entered and was accepted in most juried art shows, including "Artists of Hawaii" which is considered to be the most important show in the state.
