I make art and music. I am a native Napan. I love painting anything that is striking and pleasing. I started as a surrealist, and have gradually become more of a realist, but still try to keep things looking fresh and different.
A graduate of Napa schools, I consider the eight years I spent working on dioramas and displays in Calistoga's Sharpsteen Museum my formal art education. My informal education is every job I've held since, including sign painter, contractor's assistant, graphic artist, newspaper writer and illustrator, landscape painter, realistic caricaturist, portrait artist, and muralist.
I feel fortunate to have been given the opportunity to paint the Napa River Mural and the Petaluma Heritage Mural, the first major murals in each city.
For the past 15 years I've drawn portraits for Napa's Grad Nite.
I also have played bass, keyboards, or guitar with a number of bands in the area since the 1980s, including Your Mama, Coda, Browness, Medicine Man, Eddie and the Blue Flames, the Fabulous Falcons, No Brakes, Susie and the Stellarcats, the Gale Mead Band, and was the house accompanist at Jessel's Monday Night Jam. I still play each year in the Napa schools with O California, and for 15 years have been the designated accordionist in California Zephyr.
