Art for me, as for many, is a release. As a young child I worked with several artists in Napa - my home town.
I had a stroke at the young age of 11. To overcome that, I received brain surgery at age 15. I had a great occupational therapist who incorporated art with a therapy regiment.
After high school, I decided to attend Santa Rosa Junior College (SRJC). A few semesters into school, I was in a major motor vehicle accident leaving me in a coma and hospitalized for about 2 months. I had to learn how to walk for the third time in my life. I returned to SRJC, and have continued taking art classes. I currently take Sculpture, and it is my favorite medium.
I see my pieces as being paradoxically random, meaningful, healing, graceful, elegant, and timeless. I like to incorporate recycled and not commonly used items in my art. I feel that my art expresses my views in a unique way and shows how resourceful I am as an artist.
