Long ago, the laws of media decided that sculpture was of the hands and meant to touch, and painting, of the mind, and for eyes only. These laws have been broken many times over and now it’s my turn. The flat, framed confines of the traditional painting proposes a passive exchange: look, see, soak in the visual stimuli, think, or don't think and walk away. My work revolts against this paradigm. I am an artist of indiscriminate media. My interest lies in creating a new type of painting experience. I seek to metaphorically give limbs to my works, making them objects and not simply portals. I provide a sculptural surface without a defined termination or origination. No longer contained by the picture plane, my work exists as a sublime transition between painting and sculpture, spilling onto the floor, dripping from the ceiling and drifting out the door. Now the viewer can become an active player in a theatre of experience through their interactions with the work and its dynamic potentials. Change becomes the element of recreation, awakening a new vision of the work: yours. Please enjoy, without you my work is gasping for air.
