Grant's passionate approach to living has connected him with many forms of art from an early age. He began playing the saxophone at the age of seven and continued through his collegiate years with his own jazz band. After along hiatus for a professional career, he returned to the arts and taught himself to paint in the late 1980's. Since then he has made a commitment to painting and sculpting and is collected throughout the United States and abroad. His colorful, passionate and sometimes whimsical artwork has been shown in the top galleries of Northern California including the Vorpal Gallery of San Fransico and Dyansen Gallery of Carmel. Grant has had several one man shows and most recently has accepted an invitation to display his artwork at the 6th Biennale Internazionale Dell'Arte Contemporanea in Florence, Italy (Dec 1- Dec 9, 2007 ). Improvization with color, line, and sensuality characterize his art, it is an evolving process translated to the figurative and the abstract.
