Arts Education

History

The Arts Council established the Arts in Education Program in 1987 to bring visual, performing, digital and literary arts to Napa Valley elementary and middle school children. In this program, the arts are taught both as a core subject, as well as incorporated into the classroom curriculum. Each instructor is a professional artist who has been selected through an application process.

In 2001, The Arts Council Napa Valley was recognized for it's Arts In Education programs and received an Exemplary Arts Program Award, along with such esteemed organizations including the San Francisco Fine Art Museum, Cal Performances and the California College of Arts & Crafts.
