Artists In Schools
This website lists the workshops, performances and special opportunities available to your school. You can download a PDF of any section of interest from the left menu. Keep in mind that many artists work with a wide range of grade levels, tailoring each class to meet the specific developmental needs of the students. So, if a "perfect" workshop is not listed as being appropriate for your grade level, it is always possible that the artist can tailor it to the class in question. You can also work directly with artists to incorporate your classroom curriculum into their workshop. Schedules are determined by the teacher and artist.
Each instructor is a professional artist who has been selected through an application process, which includes a personal interview, reference check, and completion of the NVUSD fingerprinting requirement. ACNV provides a mentoring program for new artists. This program allows artists who are new to the program to "shadow" an experienced art educator while in the classroom. All program artists are members of ACNV.
