Nobori is a type of samurai battle flag which carried circles and lines as instructions for the troops in the field. Loren Madsen's sculpture of the same name plays with the ideas of flags and symbols and emulates the motions of the flags and banners.
This two-piece sculpture is made of pine with redwood, purple heart and walnut inlays and splints.
