Arts Council Napa Valley and the Napa Community Redevelopment Agency ‘s Napa ARTwalk, an Interactive Sculpture Tour, was implemented in 2010 and designed to enhance public environment and promote the understanding and enjoyment of public art by inviting artists to exhibit their art in Downtown Napa on a temporary basis.
The program goals are to:
Artworks remain on view for a calendar year, during which community members and visitors are encouraged to vote to select one artwork for a People’s Choice Award. The annual winner of the People’s Choice Award receives a complimentary two-night getaway in Napa.
Printed and download-friendly brochures, including a map of artwork locations, enable self-guided viewing of the exhibition with volunteer docents leading scheduled ARTwalk tours. Exhibition hours are daily from sunrise to sunset, with artwork illuminated at night (a new feature for the 2011-12 exhibition).
For more information about the program, please contact Arts Council Napa Valley at (707) 257-2117.
