» We require artists to have an email address in order to participate in the Artist Registry. All communication regarding the Registry is delivered via email from the Council.


 

 

Introduction



The Registry of Napa Valley Artists is a comprehensive online listing of Valley artists. This online registry is the most widely viewed page of this website with approximate 40,000 hits per month. It is open to all disciplines including actors, dancers, fine artists, musicians, photographers, poets and writers. The Registry is a resource for art buyers, performing arts presenters, curators, researchers, and fellow artists. It is an excellent tool for artists who would like a Web presence, and for arts enthusiasts and supporters to discover the rich variety of artists in the Valley.

Registry Fee



The online Registry can include any or all of the following: your contact information, your artistic discipline and a link to your own Web page that can include your artist statement, resume, biography, writing samples, photo of you, and up to 10 images. The fee is $150 for one year as part of the "Professional Resource Pass". We will notify you when your year is almost up for renewal. Very small, under each artist listing on the main Registry page, is the expiration date of your listing. Please Note that your information on the Registry will expire 12 months after you have purchased the Registry fee; so deliver your stuff quickly.

Joining the Registry Process



» You may pay for the Registry fee either online (preferred method), or (less preferred) mail payment to: ACNV Artist Registry, 1041 Jefferson St. Su. 4, Napa, CA 94559. Please include your email address along with your payment.

Once you have signed up by paying the Registered Artist fee, we will email you a link within a few business days to the online Artist Registry Information Form (available online only). You will need to have your content/text information, title, size and mediums for each image and up to ten JPG images ready-to-go before filling out the online form.

Please Note: Your information on the Registry will expire 12 months after you have purchased the Registry fee; so deliver your stuff quickly. We do not prorate extra months after your expiration date if you deliver your information months after payment / late. There are rare cases if we can not get your info up within 2-weeks, we will prorate to the end of the following month.

Once we receive your information and images in digital format, we will send you an email confirmation within 48 hours. Your information will go live within approximately 2-weeks. The expiration date for your listing and Web page will be one year from the date your information goes live.

Photo / Image Specifications & Requirements



WE DO NOT ACCEPT ANY MATERIALS THAT IS NOT CONVERTED DIGITALLY.All images must be scanned or digital photo taken.

• Image size no more than 400 pixels wide
• JPEG file format
• 72dpi Resolution
• Each image named (lastname_firstletter_title.jpg)

If you do not know how to resize your images, no problem - we'll do it for you, but please name each image, ex. "cummins_k_beautiful_sunset.jpg".

EMAIL UP TO 10 IMAGES

Mailing CD's is no longer accepted.

We require artists to have an email in order to participate in the Artist Registry.

Content Preparation Ideas



Ideas for Visual Artists
Write and/or prepare any or all of the following items: artist statement, biography, exhibition history, educational background, primary mediums used, styles, subject material and/or price range. Images include up to 10 samples of your work and/or head shot.

Ideas for Literary Artists
Write and/or prepare any or all of the following items: artist statement, biography, poems, short story sample, publishing history, and/or resume. You may also include your head shot.

Ideas for Performance Artists
Write and/or prepare any or all of the following items: artist statement, biography, resume, and/or press. Musicians may include links to music samples. Images may include up to 10 photos of performances and/or head shot.

Changes / Maintenance



You may make changes to your Web page one time during the year to any or all of the above parts of the Web page. please fill out the Artist Registry Information Form, and check the radio button that says "Current Registry Artist submitting Annual updates/changes to Web page" and fill out the required information.

Renewing Membership



To help you and the Arts Council know when your membership expires, there is the date in small grey lettering with your listing on the main Registry page. Your information will automatically expire on the date listed, so for no interruption, please submit payment prior to that date. We will contact you when your membership expires via email. If you'd like to renew your membership, please fill out the Artist Registry Information Form, and check the radio button that says "Renewing Artist" and fill out the required information.

FAQ



If I already have a website with images and my bio, can you just copy it for the Registry?
No. After we have received payment for your subscription to the Registry, you will receive an email with instructions on how to deliver your information and images.

I sent my images to the Arts Council for Open Studios, can you use those?
No. Open Studios and the Registry programs are two separate programs managed by separate people.

My listing dropped from the Registry, what happened to it?
Most likely your listing expired. You should have received an email about a month prior letting you know that your listing will expire. As soon as you renew, we will get your Web page back up again.

My listing will renew... do I have to fill out the online form again?
Yes. You will receive an email requesting that you fill out the form, however, check the box that says "Keep my information the same" and skip the rest of the steps and submit the form.

My listing dropped from the Registry, is the data lost?
No. Your info and images are still in our database.
