Artists' Programs

Calling All Teaching Artists!

ACNV invites teaching artists to apply to attend a Teaching Artist Training Course from July 17th-19th. Teaching artists accepted into the program will be paid a stipend of $150 to attend this 2 1/2 day intensive covering critical elements to successfully teaching the arts, including:

• Visual and Performing Arts (VAPA) Standards, required in most schools
• Classroom Management tools
• Evaluation tools

It will also cover:

• Professional Working Skills
• Current Arts Education theories
• How to work with teachers and administrators
• The importance of documentation for funders

Instructors and speakers will include:

• Louise Music, Arts Learning Manager & Director of the Alliance for Arts Learning Leadership
• Trena Noval, Instructor, California College of Art Teaching Institute
• Nick Challad, theater educator and leader in education programs, performing arts, and leadership development
• Sarah Brown, Principal, Salvador School
• Miki Hsu Leavey, Master Teaching Artist

It will also be an excellent opportunity to meet and connect with fellow arts teachers. Within the next 2 years, completion of this training course will be required for all artists hired through ACNV's Arts in Education program, so please take this opportunity to attend!

Complete applications must be received by 5 PM on Friday, June 26th Accepted artists will be notified by Friday, July 10th

• Friday, July 17th: 4:30 PM- 8:00 PM
• Saturday, July 18th, 9 AM - 4:30 PM
• Sunday, July 19th, 9 AM - 4:00 PM

ARTISTS MUST BE ABLE TO ATTEND THE FULL SESSION- NO EXCEPTIONS
