Our next generation

This month we are shining the spotlight on ACNV's Arts Education Program, one of the most important areas of work we do. For the last 30 years, we have worked with Napa County schools to bring critical exposure to the visual arts, music, theater and movement to tens of thousands of students. At several community festivals each year, ACNV also employs teaching artists who create hands-on family art booths. Not only does this work nurture creative thinking and skill building, but also provides new avenues for self-expression and building self-confidence.

This month, YOU can be a part of Arts Education on Earth Day, April 24 (11am-5pm), in downtown Napa. Come to Napa's Earth Day Festival, visit our booth and learn more about program for schools, parents and art teachers. At the Earth Day Festival, enjoy live entertainment and games for the whole family, food and beverages as well as exhibitions and vendors.

Then after the festival, walk over to the Napa Valley Expo Fairgrounds for Reggae in the Valley, a music concert benefiting ACNV's Arts Education Program. Doors open 4pm, and features five renowned reggae bands playing from 4:30pm to 11pm. This all-ages event will be fun for the whole family with Rasta arts & crafts vendors, food and beverages, plus a raffle for a chance to win a hot air balloon ride for two!

Community Honorees

Last but not least, we wish to thank all those wonderful community members who have lent a hand in supporting arts and culture in Napa Valley. Check out our Community Honorees Web page for the month of March!

Sincerely,
Kristina Young, Acting Executive Director

NVarts 2010 CELEBRATION: OPEN STUDIOS STATUS
Open Studios has been a great program for the participants, the community at large, and has garnered positive attention over the years. This year, as part of our 30th year anniversary celebration, the ACNV Board of Directors has reinvented it to be part of a larger, more inclusive program for the entire arts and culture community, and to be financially sustainable for the organization.

ACNV is proud to announce the first annual "NVarts 2010 Celebration" to take place during the month of October, California's Arts Month, as designated by the California Arts Council. To coordinate this exciting new event, ACNV has joined forces with the Napa Valley Arts Coalition, who have enthusiastically endorsed this event. The celebration will feature a collaborative marketing plan, a print directory, and a wide variety of special arts and culture events throughout valley during the month of October! More details on this program coming soon.
