Nurturing the Seeds of Creativity
In honor of Mother's Day, we ask you to honor your own creative impulse. What art form are you drawn toward? Is there a new art class you'd love to try? When's the last time you've seen live music? Each of us is born to create something -- a song, a play, a photograph, a poem, a garden, or maybe a delicious dinner. Take a risk this month and explore something new, or awaken this vital, possibly slumbering, part of yourself.
If you aren't sure where to start, check out ACNV's Online Arts & Culture Calendar, choc full of amazing local arts classes opportunities and events:
Last but not least, we wish to thank all those wonderful community members who have lent a hand in supporting arts and culture in Napa Valley.
Check out our Community Honorees Web page for the month of April!
Sincerely,
Kristina Young, Acting Executive Director

First up, on Saturday and Sunday, May 15-16, is the first 2010 InDIYpendent Culture Faire - the epicenter for North Bay DIY and alternative art to be located in Napa. The InDIYpendent Culture Faire will be an all day event, from 12pm to 9pm located at 426 First Street in Napa (at the old JV Warehouse building), and will offer workshops, art-making space, informational booths, and a frenzy of alternative art. Art performances such as fire dances, improv theater, live music performances, and other creative expression will begin at 5pm each day. Proceeds from this event will benefit Wandering Rose's all-ages art center/venue project. Click here to buy tickets.
In other news, the Crew are working hard on finishing up the long-awaited WanderingRose.org website where locals will be able to keep up-to-date on alternative culture events and opportunities as well as accessing a plethora of resources for getting your own shows and art off the ground.
