By Hand is an international biennial fine craft competition. Handcrafted items include everything from furniture, elegant vases and jewelry boxes to wall hangings, pottery and sculpture made by hand from glass, clay, wood, metal and fiber.  

Cash Award Prizes 

  • 1st Place  $1,000    
  • 2nd Place   $500    
  • 3rd Place $250 

A full color catalog will be produced

Juror: Brigitte Martin

Brigitte Martin is the creator and editor of crafthaus, a social network and online community for professional craft artists worldwide. She regularly contributes blogs and articles for the website and helps artists connect across media and national boundaries.

Important Dates

Deadline to enter: December 1, 2017

Exhibition Dates January 19, 2018 – March 3, 2018

Notification: December 19, 2017

Shipping deadline of work to Blue Line Arts: January 13, 2018

Hand deliver work to Blue Line Arts: January 14 or 15, 2018

Opening reception: January 20, 2018

Pick up unsold work from Blue Line Arts: March 4th or 5th, 2018

Entering the Show

Eligibility 

  • Open to all artists residing in the World
  • Open to original artwork only
  • Work cannot have been exhibited previously at Blue Line Gallery
  • Size limitations—Pieces must enter through doors with entry of 94” H x 91” W.
  • All work must be for sale.
  • No accepted entry may be withdrawn or sold outside of the exhibition prior to the close of the exhibition

Submitting Entries

  • Up to 3 entries for $40; $5 for each additional entry
  • Enter online at www.bluelinearts.org - select "Artists/Call to Artists".
