The 2017 Otis Report on the Creative Economy of California was just released.
The 2017 Otis Report on the Creative Economy of California was just released. This is the fourth year the California Arts Council has funded the statewide expansion of this important report. The statistics once again make an irrefutable case for the arts as an anchor to the world’s sixth largest economy.
This year’s report also includes an addendum on the need for affordable housing and workspaces for artists, in order to maintain our position as the nation’s nerve center for creativity in the future. The CAC provided lead sponsorship of the California report and exclusive sponsorship of the addendum on artist housing. This year’s report includes brief snapshots on regional creative economies as well.
We invite you to read and share the report. Here is a link to our announcement linking to the report: http://arts.ca.gov/news/prdetail.php?id=247
