Arts Council Napa Valley Releases Summer 2021 Community Fund Grant Recipients
Arts Council Napa Valley awards $20,000 for local arts and culture programs
Thanks to support provided by the William & Flora Hewlett Foundation, Arts Council Napa Valley announces their summer 2021 Community Fund grant recipients. Six local programs will receive between $2,500 and $5,000 each, totaling $20,000 in funds awarded.
The funding requests in each grant cycle far exceed the amount which ACNV is able to award. Thus, many deserving projects are unable to be funded. The organization is dedicated to continuing fundraising to grow the Community Fund and its impact. The summer 2021 Community Fund grant awards reflect diverse artistic genres, disciplines and audiences – with the range of funded programs including cultural celebrations, theater performances, youth art programs and more. These programs are supporting ACNV’s vision of enriching our community through arts and culture by creating greater access, engagement and culturally relevant opportunities for locals. Since the inception of the Community Fund, ACNV has provided more than $100,000 to artists and small non-profit organizations, so that local work may grow and deepen the impact of arts and culture for all in the Napa County community.
“With each grant cycle, our applicant pool grows to include more diverse projects and programs across the County,” said Chris DeNatale, ACNV Board of Directors Chair. “Our goal is to grow the program so all of these deserving ventures can be funded. I hope everyone will take the opportunity to enjoy and immerse themselves in the outstanding projects and programs we were able to fund in this summer’s cycle.”

OpusEd Artist Partnerships & OpusEd Connect

OpusEd creates an environment where students and artists can come together and create something spectacular. During the 2021-22 school year at Willow Elementary, there will be 11 different 10 week long unit residencies covering different styles of music and instruments. There will be 3 live evening student performance nights in conjunction with the program that will be made available for online viewing.
American Canyon’s Hispanic Heritage Celebration
American Canyon Arts Foundation
The American Canyon Arts Foundation will host an evening of dance and music celebrating the Latinx community, as part of the Chamber of Commerce’s new “Meet Me in the Street” monthly street fair. Fire is the Heart

A collection of paintings & a sculptural chandelier commemorating various recent Bay Area fires, with emphasis on the Glass Fire. “Fire is the Heart, a series of paintings and in situ installations to honor what was lost and help my community heal.”

Beyond the Label is a group art show of over fifteen artists from the Napa Valley and Bay Area, showcasing a variety of examples of Chicano art, culture and music.
Valley Players Ladies Briefs

“Ladies’ Briefs” will be a two-week performance run of 10 short plays to be produced and performed in Napa at Lucky Penny. “Hallelujah Girls” will be produced in February 2022 in Napa at Lucky Penny or Yountville at the Lincoln Theater.
