The City of Napa has extended the deadline for the Napa Art Walk 2017-2019 Call for Artists to February 6, 2017, 12PM Midnight CST (10PM PST). Artists can find the call and all information at www.CallForEntry.org and at www.NapaArtWalk.org. Artists who have already submitted applications for this call do not need to reapply. All applications have been saved and will be reviewed by the jury in mid-February.

The City of Napa has released a Call for Artists for the 2017-2019 Napa Art Walk. This next iteration for the two year rotating sculpture program will the fifth since the program began in 2009.

The theme for the 2017-2019 program is “Shifting Perspective”, and seeks artworks that demonstrate the power of perspective: art that changes depending upon how, when and where it is viewed. This may take the form of a shift in scale, context, construction or some other aspect; some things that are hidden in one view become visible in another, or arrangements of things may be easier to recognize from one perspective than another. The intention is to make viewers pause, reflect or take note and to personalize the phrase, “When you change the way you look at things, the way things look starts to change.”

The call is open to professional artists over 18 living or working in these Western states: AZ, CA, CO, NM, NV, OR, UT or WA.

In addition to the new call for artists, the City has also refreshed program branding. There is a new logo and website design, still at www.NapaArtWalk.com.

Napa ARTwalk: Program Info

Napa ARTwalk is rotating exhibition of original, high-quality sculpture showcased in public areas around Downtown Napa and the Oxbow District. Each two year exhibition comes from a juried selection of submissions from artists working in the Napa region and the Western United States (CA, OR, WA, AZ, NV, ID, UT and CO).

Approved by Napa City Council in 2009, the program will launch its fourth exhibition in June 2015. It has garnered both regional and national attention as an innovative Napa Valley visitor experience that highlights the region’s cultural vibrancy. It has also been featured in several media outlets including the The Miami Herald, 7 x 7 Magazine, The Washington Post, and Sunset Magazine. Top Events USA credits Napa ARTwalk for, “establishing Napa itself as a cultural destination.”
