Nominate a 2016 Arts Hero Today!

There are some incredible people in our community leading the way for the arts — we want to hear about them!

Think of your passion, your love. Something that you donate all of your time and energy to and come out feeling more alive. Whether you’re a creator or love what other people create, or care for specific issues and programs, you have a love, something you want to foster and help grow.

Now think of those who you know who have that love, that passion for the arts. They put their time, energy and life into the arts within this community, to make Napa County’s arts vibrant. These people are champions, inspirers, fervent arts lovers and our arts heroes.

We want to hear about your arts hero! We want to thank them for all they’ve done to help foster Napa County’s arts – whether as an employee of a corporation or foundations, a dedicated philanthropist or volunteer, or an outstanding advocate – we want to give them the recognition they deserve.

Anyone is eligible to be nominated (with the exception of past honorees as well as currently seated Arts Council Napa Valley staff and board). Give that special person the best compliment and submit them for the 2016 Arts Hero Award! Just click here to nominate your Arts Hero.

All nominations must be in by Sunday May 8, 2016 at 11:59pm. The honoree will be selected by the ACNV Awards Committee. From there, the nominators (i.e. you) and honoree will be contacted for further information and additional steps.

The 2016 Arts Hero Award honoree will be recognized at the second annual Napa County State of the Arts on May 31, 2016 from 5pm-8pm, held at the Napa Valley Performing Arts Center at Lincoln Theater in Yountville.  Tickets to the event may be purchased here.

About the Napa County Arts Hero Award

First launched in 2013, the Arts Hero honor was originally awarded by the ACNV’s board of directors to local developer Harry T. Price whose visionary leadership helped open doors for the arts in tourism as well as public and private development. The second Arts Hero award was given in 2015 to Jamie Graff, Executive Director of Nimbus Arts. Graff was nominated by her peers and received the honor for her passionate dedication and civic-minded approach in founding and leading Nimbus Arts, utilizing the power of the arts to engage the community in vital cultural and social issues.
