Building the Bridge: 3:00 pm – 4:00 pm

Balanced Breakfast presents a diverse multidisciplinary panel of grassroots arts leaders. Learn about Napa’s Balanced Breakfast Chapter, a networking group for the local music industry, and join a discussion on how to support local artists in building bridges with businesses and nonprofits (including: what’s worked, areas for improvement, and what the future holds).

Since becoming the owners and producers of BottleRock Napa Valley, the music, wine, and food festival has become one of the country’s premium annual events, garnering national and international acclaim. Creating Equity for Latino Students in Arts Programming

Join this panel discussion focused on how to build equity and culturally relevant opportunities for native Spanish speakers and Latinos, drawing on the Napa Valley Unified School District’s (NVUSD) years serving an increasingly diverse student population. Get an update on the progress of the NVUSD’s Arts Education Master Plan and its goals relevant to equity and access. A panel moderated by Chuck Neidhoefer (NVUSD Arts Coordinator) with educators and advocates for English Learners.

Arts Council Napa Valley Presents 2018 Napa County State of the Arts Summit

Announcing the Full Line Up for the 4th Annual Arts, Entertainment & Culture Mini-Conference

Napa, CA, January 4, 2018 –  Arts Council Napa Valley (ACNV) announces the full line up for the fourth annual Napa County State of the Arts Summit on Friday, January 12, 2018.

The State of the Arts Summit is an annual mini-conference for Napa County’s arts, culture and entertainment professionals and advocates – with the mission to inspire, inform and build networks for the year ahead.

This year’s event will feature a keynote address from Jonathan Moscone, Chief of Civic Engagement at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts and former Artistic Director of California Shakespeare Theater. Mr. Moscone has spent his storied career defining new models for how arts organizations and individuals can participate in the civic life of their community. At the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, he has created a civic engagement practice rooted in community advocacy and coalition building through programs like youth fellowships, artist residencies in San Francisco public schools, iconic public art installations, a long-term partnership with the city of San Francisco Planning Department, and even a ballot measure aimed at restoring city funding for the arts & homeless family services.

Exciting breakout sessions will follow the keynote address and will include voices of the BottleRock Napa Valley executive team, Balanced Breakfast and grassroots industry leaders, Napa Valley Unified School District’s Arts Coordinator, and Barry Schwarz, a small business arts marketing consultant. Additionally, the ACNV will present its annual report. The event will be followed by a networking mixer, providing refreshments and live entertainment from local artists.

Napa County State of the Arts is happening January 12, 2018 from 1-6pm, at the Napa Valley College Performing Arts Center. The event is open to the public.
