Calling all creative writers: Do you love writing stories with suspense and intrigue?

We are looking for someone with a passion for writing, reading, and research to be a ghostwriter for our CEO’s next book. The idea is to write a business book that captivates readers, much like a novel by Dan Brown, Tom Clancy, or Suzanne Collins.

Use your love for storytelling to help bring our CEO’s vision to life. We already have an outline. We’d love your help to turn it into a book that reads like a movie.

This is a short term contract position. Must be available to work on site at our office in San Mateo


  • Work together with the CEO to write a book.
  • Read books and other secondary research.
  • Travel with the CEO to interviews and take detailed notes.
  • Interview the CEO to understand key points.
  • Write to a pre-established outline that already has characters and a plot.
  • Make edits based on CEO’s revisions and feedback.

  • Perceptively conduct interviews with the ability to ask detailed questions that help clarify key points and purpose

  • Strong ability to meet deadlines

Desired Experience

  • Completed or pursuing a Bachelor's and/or Master’s degree in Liberal Arts; Communications, Creative Writing, English, or Journalism, preferred
  • Business experience is a plus
  • Journalism experience is a plus


$50,000 for 5-7 months

  • $5,000 for sample chapter
  • $15,000 when hired
  • $15,000 midpoint milestone
  • $15,000 completion

Working Relationship

The writer will report to the CEO.
