Teaching Artists for School Based Programs

East Bay Center's Teaching Artists carry the mission of the Center to ignite the imaginations of young people through the performing arts. We work with over 20 school partner sites each year, reaching over 4,500 students in Richmond and San Pablo.

Teaching Artists are directly responsible for developing engaging curricula in collaboration with the School Partnerships Department.  She/he will be responsible for maintaining the quality of our programs, developing strong relationships with our partner schools, and contributing to the mission of the organization.
Disciplines: Included by not limited to: circus, music, theater, dance, spoken word, storytelling, voice, capoeira, and global art traditions

Teaching Artist: After-School
Must be available to teach a minimum of one day a week for two hours during the after-school hours (3-5:30pm).

Teaching Artist: General Music
Teaching includes music theory, instrumental instruction (recorder, voice and/or ukulele), and ensemble performance techniques.

Teaching Artist: Arts Integration
Includes delivering project-based lessons in collaboration with elementary school teachers aligned with the Common Core and VAPA Standards.

All Teaching Artist are expected to take part in East Bay Center's orientation, yearly professional development workshops, and in our program quality improvement process.
