New Year, New ACNV
Membership Now Free

We’ve been busy strategic planning in 2018 and are happy to announce some BIG changes for members. We hope you’ll be as excited about them as we are!

We are proud to share that our board of directors recently adopted a new Strategic Plan that will be our roadmap for the next three years and will help us better fulfill our mission to provide leadership that unites, supports and enhances our exceptional arts and culture community (read about the plan here). The driving purpose of our new goals is to improve equitable access to our services and expand our outreach; our first priority is to serve you and everyone in Napa Valley’s vast and diverse arts community.

As a result of this planning and our primary focus on building an inclusive representation of the arts, we reviewed all our programs and services to look at the ways we may have been limiting access. Out of that work came the following changes…

New Insider Link provides benefits to all! This new program is free to join, and combines all the benefits that were previously only available to with paid membership: our monthly ‘industry opportunity’ email, invitations to our arts industry mixers (now, ‘Link-Ups’), arts advocacy alerts, and a basic Creative Directory profile. As a former member, you are automatically transferred to the Insider Link list. To create your basic Creative Directory profile, see below. As a perk to members who joined/renewed within the last 12 months, if you would like to upgrade to a Featured Profile you will be credited the amount of your last payment toward the upgrade fee. Just email Bethany Crown at bethany@artscouncilnv.org to receive your discount code.

With this new standalone online Creative Directory, we are doubling down on our commitment to make discovering artists, performers, and creative professionals of all kinds easy and accessible. With this new online service, your business and individual profiles are easily ‘findable’, all in one place. Best of all, we now offer FREE basic profiles! The site is now in ‘BETA’ (the testing phase) and we would love you to be the first to give us your feedback! Sign-up for your free profile today and let us know how we are doing:CreativeDirectoryNapaValley.com.

Once we have thoroughly vetted the experience and have at least 150 active profiles, we will launch a campaign to target traffic from local talent bookers, presenters, curators, public art administrators, and event planners. So join today and help us raise awareness of local talent!

Did you know we offer referral services, grant opportunities, grant writing advice, professional development opportunities, and other tools to help you succeed? If you work in the arts, our doors are open to you. Send us an email to set up an appointment to sit down with us: bethany@artscouncilnv.org.

As members, you have been dedicated supporters and we love that you believe in our work. So, if you would like to continue to support ACNV in lieu of an annual membership fee, we ask you to consider a monthly or annual contribution. By making a regular gift to ACNV, you’re telling us that arts education matters, arts friendly policies matter, and community serving programming like grants for the arts matters. Those things matter deeply to us too, and we greatly appreciate your support.

Keep watch for an update from us about upcoming changes for Arts in April 2019. Utilizing participant feedback and stakeholder input, we’ve redesigned the Arts and Culture month campaign to better serve you, and our strategic goals. If you’re planning an event, the free calendar on NapaValleyNow.com will live by the end of January.

Along with our new goals, we needed an updated platform to communicate with the community. Our intention is to make it easier for you to find the resources you need on our site. Watch for our announcement later in 2019.

The State of the Arts summit will now be every other year, beginning in the Fall of 2019. Stay tuned for speaker and breakout announcements this summer.

For anyone interested in staying up to date on local arts education issues and opportunities, be sure to check out the all new ArtsEdNapa.org and Connections/Conexiones newsletter. As most of you are aware, we will be saying goodbye to Olivia and welcoming a new CEO this year. The board will have an announcement regarding our new leader by the end of December. If you were hoping to say goodbye to Olivia, don’t worry, she will be helping with transition until February, and if you come in after the new year you’ll also get to say hello to the new CEO! We want to make sure everyone gets a chance to know our new leadership, so we’ll be hosting a meet & greet and town halls so the new CEO can get to know the community in early 2019.
