Sculpture Trail Exhibit - Call for Artists

Sculpture Trail | Cloverdale to Geyserville | Apply by February 25th, 2018


The Cloverdale Sculpture Trail is a year-round outdoor exhibit (sculptures change each May). The Cloverdale Historical Society & History Museum, the producers of the Sculpture Trail, invites sculptors to submit proposals.

Two sculptures will be selected by the judges to receive an award, a $1,000 “Best of Show” award and a $250 “Honorable Mention” award. Additionally, the viewing public can vote for their favorite sculpture in Cloverdale. The winner will receive a “People’s Choice” award, a gift basket with various items and gift certificates from Sonoma County Businesses.

Exhibit Selection Committee

Debra Lehane - Independent Curator, previously curator for the Voigt Family Sculpture Foundation and Collections Manager for the SF Arts Commission where she developed and administered the Civic Art Collection Program.

Janet Howell – Owner of J. Howell Fine Art Gallery located in Healdsburg, on the Plaza, and for many years former Director of the Carmel Art Association founded in 1927. Janet produced three books oQ California art featuring artists E. Charlton Fortune, Percy Gray and Rip Matteson..

Sandy Erickson - Co-owner and director of the Erickson Gallery in Healdsburg. The gallery showcases contemporary paintings, sculptures and mixed media works by local and internationally known artists, with an emphasis on artists from Northern California.

Exhibition Timeline

February 25, 2018 – Deadline for receipt of entries

By March 9, 2018 – Artists will be notified of selection - artists selected will receive $250.

April 26, 2018 – Installation of selected 2018-2019 sculptures.

May 4, 2018 – Winners notified

June 2, 2018 - 5:00 to 7:30pm - Opening Reception at the Cloverdale Performing Art Center, 209 N. Cloverdale Blvd. Introduction of sculptors, announcement of winners and celebration of 15 years of sculptures in Cloverdale.

May 2, 2019 – Removal of the 2018-2019 exhibit sculptures
