Arts Council Napa Valley is pleased to partner with NapaLearns Partners for Projects (P4P) program, which brings community expertise into Napa’s transformed classrooms. So if you have a particular passion or expertise built from years of experience in the world of work, and enjoy sharing your knowledge and inspiring others, here is an opportunity you may want to explore.
NapaLearns, a nonprofit organization, partners with the public school districts to bring project-based learning (PBL) to Napa County’s students, and has formed Partners for Projects to extend an opportunity for the community to share their expertise in today’s transformed classrooms. In the P4P program, we are looking for community members willing to share their experience and passion for their field with students who are learning by doing in today’s PBL environment.
In these transformed classrooms, students are working in collaborative groups on real-world projects that engage their interest and promote communication, critical thinking, creativity and collaboration. Together, they investigate answers to ”driving questions” and present their findings to real world subject matter experts. Through this approach, they learn required content standards while doing real-world problem solving.
Since one of our objectives at the Arts Council is to extend educational outreach to our community, we see this as a great opportunity for creative professionals to work with our students for their future. We have a wealth of expertise and experience in our community and our teachers welcome all levels of participation.
