Volunteer for Sun Run + Taste 2017 to Support Arts Education

About the event: Time to dust off the running shoes for Festival Napa Valley's third annual Sun Run. The popular 5K and 10 K race starts at Lincoln Theater in Yountville, and participants can choose to run, jog, or walk along the Vine Trail, to and through charming downtown Yountville, and into the surrounding vineyards. New this year, teams of 10 or more can register for $25 per team participant until June 16, 2017. All proceeds go towards supporting the Napa County Alliance for Arts Education, a coalition dedicated to promoting arts education access, equity and quality in Napa County K-12 public schools.

General Notes:  Volunteer attire is as follows: shorts no shorter than the top of your knee, yoga pants or capri and a t-shirt. Volunteers will be provided with a lanyard and badge.

Volunteers are expected to arrive on time in appropriate attire, report to the volunteer coordinator and follow instructions regarding specific tasks, shift breaks and end of shift changeovers. 

Please do not bring personal items with you, there are no lockers and we cannot promise safe storage. We are not responsible for any lost or stolen items.

Venue Information: Yountville Community Center. Starts at the community center and will run through charming downtown Yountville and will be utilizing most of the new vine trail.

Taste of Napa
Napa Valley Expo

About the Event

With an only-in-Napa Valley array of gourmet food and wine selections for the discerning palate,Taste of Napa begs the question, “Is there a better way to wile away a summer Saturday in wine country?” Nearly 70 restaurants, food artisans, breweries and wineries will participate in this year’s popular event.

Attendees can eat, drink and socialize. For the discerning wine lover, the Reserve Tasting Salon is the place to be. The lounge will feature wines from an unprecedented collection of elite wineries, each pouring their very best bottlings from the Napa Valley.

General Notes

Volunteers are required to wear dark jeans (no tears or rips), and a white top with a collar; sensible shoes; a lanyard and badge will be provided. The day of the event, your contacts will be: Cori Fagundes (707)342-0153 (this number is only to be used the day of the event)

While you won’t be able to enjoy the food or wine on site, we will have a back-of-house rest area available. We will be providing coffee and pastries in the morning and a boxed lunch for each volunteer.

Volunteers are not allowed to consume alcohol or food during their shift. Neither full nor partial bottles of wine may be removed from the grounds.

Upon arrival at each venue, learn where restrooms are located so you can direct guests if required.

  • Heavy lifting: 20 to 60 lbs
  • Assist with unloading vendor vehicles
  • Lift and carry cases of wine
  • Handle a dolly and/or cart
  • Carry bags or buckets of ice
  • Remain on feet up to 8 hours
  • Work in hot weather conditions
  • Supervise parking and direct traffic
  • Assist vendors with set-up and break-down
  • Fulfill vendor requests for ice, water, empty spit buckets, etc.
  • Line management
  • Greet and assist guests with questions and directions
  • Bussing and cleaning
  • Handle trash and recycle items
  • Assist with event breakdown and clean-up
  • Boxed lunch will be provided

Venue information: The Napa Valley Exposition is a vital part of the diverse

Napa Valley community and showcases our agricultural heritage, provides a high quality entertainment venue and cultivates recreational and educational opportunities for residents and visitors of all ages. We will be holding our event at the Chardonnay Hall and Plaza area of the grounds.  

As a festival volunteer, you will receive 2 complimentary tickets to one of the following Lincoln Theater performances: July 19th, July 21st, or July 22nd. Tickets will be given on a first come, first serve basis and you must work a minimum of 4 hours. We have limited amount of tickets per performance. Please tell us what your top 3 choices are:
