Artists In Schools
In partnership with the Napa County Office of Education (NCOE) and Napa City-County Library, ACNV co-produces this annual program promoting literacy in our schools and the community at large. ACNV brings in the support of the visual arts community by soliciting for artwork submissions each year to be auctioned off in a silent auction, which takes place the night of the author reading and reception. All proceeds benefit the next year's program.

Napa County Reads is produced by Arts Council Napa Valley & Napa County Office of Education.
For the year 2010, the book selected is "SHIFTY" by Lynn E. Hazen. The story is about a 15 year old boy who is in foster care. The canvas on which eighteen Napa County artists will create their unique work of art based after the book will be wooden planters. The Napa County Reads Reception and Silent Auction for the planters will be held Wednesday, October 27th at 7pm at the Napa Valley Opera House. It's co-sponsored by Arts Council Napa Valley, Napa County Office of Education and the Napa Valley Opera House. Click here to view Facebook Photo Album.
ACNV enlisted the help of 24 member artists and 22 Napa High art students to raise money for the program by creating original bookends inspired by the novel ("Reaching Out", by Dr. Francisco Jiménez). The bookends were then sold in silent auction at the event at the Napa Valley Opera House. Click here to view Facebook Photo Album.
