Darcy Croshaw

As in life, my artistic pursuit has been a journey. My recent creative quest began after years of hand dyeing silk organza for women's accessories and apparel and wanting to explore the possibility of using my textiles in collage. As organza is translucent, it is possible to layer one piece of fabric over another to create depth, dimension and interest.

To develop more interest and to create a foundation for the collage, I began to print monotypes for the first layer. Eventually, I found myself intrigued with the process of creating monotypes and began to experiment with a variety of techniques. Each technique and process has opened doors to new discoveries and expression that has become the basis for new ideas. The journey continues with the excitement of addressing new challenges and inspiration.
