Arts Council Napa Valley has received a generous $5,000 contribution from the Frys.com Open at Silverado Resort as one of the events selected local charity.
Frys.com Open Tournament Chairperson and Fry’s Electronics Co-Founder, Kathy Kolder announced Monday that the 2014 Frys.com Open will award $1,000,000 from tournament proceeds to a number of designated charities. The tournament has awarded more than $7,000,000 to charity since inception. “We are pleased with the success of the 2014 Frys.com Open at Silverado,” said Kolder. “Our thanks go out to our Northern California community, the dedicated volunteers and our generous sponsors who make this event.”
The Frys.com Open’s primary beneficiary is The American Institute of Mathematics (AIM), a San Jose-based organization whose mission is to advance mathematical knowledge through collaboration, to broaden participation in mathematics, and to increase the awareness of the contributions of mathematics to society. Other beneficiaries include The First Tee of Silicon Valley, Northern California Golf Association Foundation, Special Olympics of Northern California, Queen of the Valley Foundation, Johnny Miller Junior Golf Foundation, and several Napa Valley community charities.
