Community members of all ages, as well as visitors to the Napa Valley, are invited to join Nimbus Arts’ staff and artists to produce the installation’s final mosaic elements. Nimbus Arts promises an energizing, educational, artistic, and fun-filled evening at these upcoming community work “parties” and urges community members to invite their friends and colleagues to join in, or come and make new friends while working to enliven our community.
The free community workshops to complete the mosaic will be held at the Nimbus Arts studio located at 649 Main Street in St. Helena, CA on Thursday, September 7 and Thursday, September 14 (6:00-8:30pm). You can RSVP here.
Artists of all ages and abilities are welcome. Children under 10 are encouraged to attend but must be accompanied by an adult. Attendees can make an evening of it by bringing a potluck dish, or wine to share.
The completed installation, comprised on mosaic elements that form a dragon motif, will be the featured element of the Creativity Corner, located on the grounds of St. Helena Elementary School, at the corner of Oak Avenue and Adams Street. A dragon is the school mascot.
The Creativity Corner will serve as a year-round space to engage in art activities, community play space and area for classroom activity. Final placement will begin in just a few weeks with unveiling and dedication of the Creativity Corner occurring during St. Helena’s Harvest Festival on Saturday, October 21, 2017.
The City of St. Helena, the St. Helena Unified School District, the Rudd Foundation, and donations to Nimbus Arts – large and small – have helped make the Creativity Corner possible and we need your hands to make it a reality!
